The Fiers & Forts like to play!
Theater provides children with the opportunity to embody a character for a moment. Through this exercise, our young actors work on their diction and vocabulary, gain self-confidence by daring to push their limits within a caring and supportive group.
Experience emotions and portray them on stage
Develop confidence and self-awarenes
Playing with words, improving diction, and expanding vocabulary
Getting in touch with one's body, moving in space
Holding back judgment and fostering compassion
Experiencing the unity of a troupe and creating a performance
During the theater workshop, the Fiers & Forts gather in an expression room for role-playing games, solo or group mime, and short scene performances. Each session begins with a moment of breathing and concentration. Once grounded in the present moment and connected to their physical and psychological bodies, it's time to step into the shoes of a character. This role interpretation game requires the children to recognize and experience an emotion and then attempt to convey it. Through this mediation, fundamental concepts are stimulated:
Since everyone experiences this exercise, each person is aware of the personal growth it represents. The Fiers & Forts develop feelings of empathy, encouragement, and admiration for each other's performances. In everyday situations, such as conflict resolution, children can draw upon what they have learned in the workshop. They are capable of allowing others to express their feelings and listening attentively. And finally, in this space of freedom where our budding actors can dare to do anything, and they don't hold back, it's heartwarming to hear them laugh and create unforgettable shared memories.
The sweltering August heat is finally easing. The subject of back-to-school begins to mingle with those of the beach and pool, which have happily monopolized the children's conversations since their return from camp. A beautifully decorated letter is slipped under the office door...
If you've joined the Fiers & Forts family recently, you may be wondering whether the Center stays open during the summer... well, yes! The CFF is open 365 days a year, day and night, including weekends and vacations, because it's the home of the children we welcome.
